When we were kids, physical education was a weekly, if not daily, part of our general education.  Today, the state mandates only 20 minutes of P.E. per week and a dedicated P.E. instructor is not available until 5th grade.

Diabetes, obesity, attention deficit disorders, and other    physical and mental ailments are at an all time high.

Center of Movement is a local non-profit 501(c)3              organization that has been providing high quality weekly yoga classes to the students and teachers at D.H. White Elementary School since 2002. This year, we have added a much needed program at Riverview Middle School

Our curriculum is based on the nationally recognized  YogaED™  K-8 program; a comprehensive, theme based curriculum that lays a foundation for lifetime wellness by   focusing on health and life skills while at the same time,  meeting state and national physical education standards.

The kids and teachers love this program!

Our goal is to expand this program to benefit EVERY child.

We are seeking your support of $1.50 per week or $54 per school year per child.

Children involved with  daily physical activity have shown  superior academic performance and attitude toward school.   Exercise has been shown to improve scores on short-term memory, reaction time, and creativity; and young persons who exercised daily outperformed other students on exams.
